Randy Schimmel Obituary
Funeral services for Randy Ray Schimmel, 52, Lawrence, KS will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October, 8, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
He was born on May 6, 1961 in Lawrence, KS the son of Raymond Charles Schimmel and Mary Lois (Anderson) Galyardt.
He was a 1980 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. He worked as an EO Specialist for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Survivors include two daughters, Katie Schimmel, Lawrence, KS and Miranda Schimmel, Florida; two sisters, Rose Schimmel, Lawrence, Rhonda Miller and husband, Russ, Topeka; two brothers, Ralph, Lawrence, Dary Meyer, San Diego, CA; grandson, Nicolas Glynos; and step-mother, Mary Schimmel, Eudora. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October, 7, 2013 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Randy Schimmel Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the Mortuary.

I new Randy since he was a kid. He was behind me in school at Lecompton & Perry.
I saw & talked with Randy at a lot of auctions, as well as worked closely with Randy a lot on trailer park work every year. My heart goes out to the family. Rest in peace my friend.

I am so saddened to hear about Randy passing. He was a very special and funny person to be around. We had a lot of great laughs working together at the auctions. I will miss him and my condolences go out to his family.
