Phyllis Marie Walters

Phyllis Marie Walters, 85, of Edwardsville, KS passed away on Friday, November 02, 2012 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Sat., Nov. 10, at the Alden – Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. Friends may call at the visitation from 5 to 7 pm, Fri., Nov. 9, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Walters was born July 8, 1927 in Kansas City, KS and was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Argentine High School in K.C., KS. She enjoyed raising her family in the Edwardsville area and was active in scouting as a den mother and as a Campfire leader as her children were growing up. She had worked as a secretary at Providence Hospital and Nat Nast and more recently Champ Service Line in Edwardsville retiring in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles F. Walters in 2011 and 1 son John W. Walters in 2006. And is survived by her 2 children James Frederick Walters of Bonner Springs, KS and Barbara Marie Baker of Edwardsville, KS. 8 grandchildren Tamala M. Burgoon, John W. Walters, Jr., Charles E. Walters, Shawn M. Walters, Mariah B. Meyer, Monica K. Walters, William W. Baker and Anna M. Baker. 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. And 1 Sister-in-law Elaine Higbee of Kansas City, MO.
