Pauline Johnson Obituary

On February 21, 2025 Pauline Haydon Johnson died at Neuvant House, Lawrence, KS surrounded by her loving family and supportive care team. Pauline was born in Springfield, KY on July 30, 1939. She and her husband, Robert (Bob) Johnson, have made Lawrence, KS their home since April, 1968.

Pauline always had an open door and a tin full of cookies. She was a role model and confidante for her children and extended family.  She valued and practiced a life of service to her family, friends, and community. For decades she gave of her time to St. John the Evangelist and then Corpus Christi, Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels, LINK, PEO, and volunteering whenever needed for special projects.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Haydon, her brother, Thomas Haydon Jr., sister-in-law, Bess Haydon, and grandson, James Fulbright. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert, their children Bob (Jana), Tom (Monica), David (Andrea), Mary (Tom) Fulbright, Beth (Michael) Gallagher, Paul (Sandy), Patrick (Gerilyn), Julie (Mike) Huber, twenty-nine grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, brother, Charles Haydon, sister-in-law Libby Haydon, and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express thanks to all her caregivers, especially Neuvant House Staff for their loving care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Pauline will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church 10:30 am July 12, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Jayhawk Club from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Pauline to Meals on Wheels or Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
