Our beloved Mom, Grandmom, and Sister, Patricia (Pat) Fluorine Diemont Ransone, passed away peacefully on November 9th, 2025, at the age of 76 in San Antonio, Texas.
Pat was born on June 18th, 1949, in Alkmaar, Netherlands, to Lydia Poppea Lamping and Albert Bernard George Waller Diemont. At the age of ten, Pat and her family immigrated to the United States, settling in Louisiana. Following high school graduation, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska, to attend the University of Omaha. It was during her time in Omaha, at a local church, that she met the love of her life, Preston M. Ransone. The two wed on June 20th, 1969, in Washington, D.C.
Pat later continued her education at the College of William and Mary, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology. While raising her family, along with many beloved puppies - Pat built a career in real estate and later worked as a Banquet Manager. Her creativity also flourished through years of involvement with the Lawrence Art Guild, where she frequently sold and displayed her artwork at Art in the Park. Pat was a gifted watercolor artist and someone who loved her community. One thing she was especially proud of was earning her Dog Days T-shirt by participating in the required number of work-outs with the local exercise program. She also generously gave her time volunteering at the LMH gift shop and on the maternity floor, offering warmth and care to countless families.
A woman of many passions, Pat found joy in music as a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church choir. She loved the energy of Downtown Lawrence, where she never missed her two favorite parades - St. Patrick's Day and Mardi Gras. Among her favorite places to spend time were Free State Brewing Company and Milton's, where she enjoyed good food, good company, and the vibrant spirit of the community she cherished.
Pat will be remembered for her generosity, her creativity, her humor, and the wholehearted love she poured into her family and community. She touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy filled with kindness, resilience, and joy.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Preston M. Ransone; her parents; and her brother, Alex. Pat is survived by her children, Claudine (Kyle) Sterling, Bart (Kristen) Ransone, and Amine (Tim) Bruce; and her seven adored grandchildren.
Pat will be laid to rest and will rejoin her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
