Dear Denning and McRae families - I just heard the news about Patsy this afternoon. It just broke my heart. I knew Patsy from our Topeka days in school. While she was younger than me, I always loved her positive, cheerful disposition. I was fortunate to cross paths with her again at KU basketball games and again saw her warm personality. I loved hearing that she was a doctor and knew she had to have been a terrific one. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family. Just know that she touched many lives in her journey here on earth.

To the McRae-Denning family and Lawrence community, my thoughts and sincere condolences for the unimaginable loss. I work with Patrick and he honors his family daily with the genuine concern and willingness to help others.

Dr. Denning was my primary care physician while I was studying Law at KU. She was a compassionate and thorough caregiver helping me treat several health issues, and I am grateful to her for the personalized service I always received from her with a smile! Both family and community suffer in this loss. She is remembered.

I am saddened to hear about the sudden loss of a wonderful woman. I spent four years at the Kappa house with I will remember her as funny, witty, smart and so much fun and a friend to all. My prayers go out to both families.

To the McRae and Denning families,

There have been so many comments about how wonderful Patsy was and she was! I was one too that went to Junior High and TWHS with her and have nothing but good memories of her. Please know that she was thought of highly in Topeka as well. You are in my prayers.

Beth and I were shocked by the news of Patsy's death and our thoughts and prayers are with you.It was a great privelege to know her and I know she brought joy to everyone who knew her.

Mary Alice--I am so very sorry to hear about Patsy's death. She and my sister Ann remained in contact since elementary school and I fondly remember her from my childhood. I also have fond memories of summers at Camp Lake Huber--some of the greatest times of my childhood--which you facilitated. My heart goes out to you.

My heart truly is heavy burdened as I send this message of sympathy and love for the McRae and Denning families. Our years together at Whitson, Capper, Topeka West and Kansas State are some of my happiest memories. I fondly recall how Patsy would throw her head back a little and give a big laugh! Our days at Camp Lake Hubert together as Robins will be with me always. I am so sad I cannot attend her service due to previous travel plans. Sophomore year of high school I'd regularly give my friend Patrick rides home from school. Upon arriving at the Denning homestead we'd park our rears in the kitchen and chow down on a fridge full of goodies Dr. Denning always made sure was well stocked. She loved making sure us growin' boys had full stomachs. Needless to say she won me over! I will never forget Mama Denning and my heart of hearts is with Dale, Patrick, Bryant and Elise.

It is with great sadness that I write this. I will long remember the special times I was so fortunate to share with Patsy, dating back to grade school at Whitson. Whether it was our days as Bluebirds, horseback riding together, or playing golf, her fun loving spirit was ever present and contagious. She leaves us much too early, but her legacy as a thoughtful and compassionate woman will be remembered by all who knew Patsy. To every member of the McRae and Denning family, may God's peace and comfort be with you.

I work with Dr. Denning at Watkins Health Center for 7 years. She always made me feel special. My deepest sympathy.

Patsy stayed overnight with me this summer on her way to be camp doctor for a week at Camp Lake Hubert, where we both went as kids. It was always great to catch up with her and this news is a blow. She was my first friend in first grade and that is a bond that lasts forever. My heart aches for all the McRaes and Dennings.

The whole family clan joined us for our 100 Year Celebration in September of 2009, and what a treat it was to have all three generations present for that event, with her Mom and alumnus Mary Alice McRae leading the way. Patricia has been our lead camp doctor for the past many years, and she will be missed indeed. She was a perfect match for our first-of-the season camp doctor. Her caring dispostion, her warm smile, her obvious servants heart and attentive demeanor sets her apart indeed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sam, Bill, Ruggs, Andre, Laura, Stacey, Wendy and all your friends at Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert.

She was the best Science class lab partner one could have! We loved riding our horses with Marla & friends whether we were on trail rides or working on horsemanship together. I am so sad to hear of Patsy's passing. Patsy was my best friend when I moved to Topeka from Honolulu in 1970. We became friends at Capper Jr High and sayed close all through high school. I went on to college in Arizona but we stayed in touch when I went back to Topeka for visits. Patsy helped me adapt to my new life in Kansas. I will always cherish her friendship. My heart goes out to Dale and her kids, Don, Mary Alice, Marla, Christie and Doug.
