Patricia Lebsack Obituary

Patricia Marschall Lebsack, 94, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away on July 23, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family at her home in Pioneer Ridge Independent Living, Lawrence, Kansas. She was born in 1929, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Lynn and Ruby (Marschall) Beeley. Pat has made her home in Lawrence since 2021. As a child, Pat's family moved to Denver, Colorado, where she attended school and graduated from East High School. She attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she studied art and earned a Bachelors degree in Education. During college, Pat met Wayne Lebsack, a student at the Colorado School of Mines, at a sorority picnic. They married in Denver on October 12, 1951 and made their home in Lyons for 66 years until his death in 2018. During her years in Lyons, Pat raised three children and was a longtime educator for the Lyons School District. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Chapter C PEO of Lyons, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Lucky 13 Bridge Club, and the Rice County Art Council. She enjoyed painting, golf, gardening, birdwatching, and had a deep love of nature and her pets. Pat was a great cook, a gracious hostess, a loving mother and grandmother, and a caring member of the Lyons community. Pat enjoyed attending many Nature Conservancy events during Wayne's work with the Kansas Chapter. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and son, Mark Lebsack. Pat is survived by her two daughters, Careth Wilson of Austin, TX, and Amy Dillon (Brian) of Lawrence, KS; sister, Mary Lynn Phillips of Los Angeles, CA. Pat was a loving and beloved grandmother to Jordan Radis of Denver, CO, Katherine Dillon of Lawrence, KS, John Dillon of Chicago, IL and Anne Dillon of Overland Park, KS. Pat loved her time at Pioneer Ridge Independent Living in Lawrence, where she made new friends and enjoyed the many activities. The family is indebted to the caring staff of Pioneer Ridge, Helping Hands Home Care, and Good Shepherd Hospice. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 4, 2023, at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, with Rev. Lara MacGregor officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present.
