Nina Cobb Obituary

Nina Cobb, of Lawrence, passed away on June 26, 2022 due to complications from cancer. It would be wrong to say that Nina lost her battle with cancer as she never stopped fighting. No matter how ill she was, she was always determined to keep going. Due to this, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life and love for her family kept her pushing through the pain. Nina was surrounded by her family as she transitioned from this life on Earth to her eternal life in Heaven.

Nina had many titles – faithful daughter, loyal sister, caring aunt, warmhearted friend; but her favorite titles included devoted wife and mama. Nina met her soulmate, Alan, at the age of 15. The two were later married and celebrated 52 years of marriage together this year. Nina's world revolved around her children – Kelly (Terry) Cook, John (Holly) Cobb, Colleen (John) Dahl and Kyle (Logan) Cobb. Her legacy will continue through them and her 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Nina was a compassionate spirit whose natural ability to care for and nurture others was unmatched. As her children grew older, she pursued a career in the healthcare field. Nina specialized in private home care for over 25 years.

Nina was known for her sparkling blue eyes and beautiful, genuine smile. She had the ability to put anyone at ease. Simply put, Nina knew no stranger and people were drawn to her warm heart. Nina was a friend to all. Her sense of humor and quick wit were second to none. She loved her friends and family and filled her home with love and kindness. Nina was so unbelievably special. She represented the good we need everyday in our lives. She will be greatly missed by those she knew and loved.

While Nina's family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Nina in a way that honors her indomitable spirit. The family will gather and welcome friends for a Celebration of Life Ceremony at a later date.

Truly a shock to hear of Nina's passing. Even though I hadn't seen her for several years, I still consider it a blessing to call her my friend and remember all of the great times we all shared when you were across the street from us. Nina will be missed by a lot of people, family and friends. My heart goes out to Alan, Kelly, John, Colleen, and Kyle in this very hard and difficult time in their lives. May God bless each and every one of you and help in your healing.
