Neva Hughes Obituary
Neva was born September 25, 1926 in Mountain View, Arkansas to Charles Freeman Poff and Emily Jane (Neal) Poff.
Neva married John Vernon Hughes, Sr on November 19, 1945. John passed in May 2012. Neva and John raised 3 children.
Neva was employed and retired from the Lawrence School System. She was the Attendance Officer at Lawrence High School, retiring in 1991.
Neva was preceded in death by her parents, husband John (2012), oldest son John V. Hughes, Jr. (2020), Brothers: Lewis Poff, George Poff, Joel (LLoyd) Poff, Clarence Poff (died at age 8) and 2 sets of twins.
Neva is survived by daughter Bette Freeman (Tarry), Alamo Texas, son Tom Hughes (Annette), Alamo, Texas, Grandchildren: Alise Hopkins (Kyle), Angie Hughes (Chris Moore), John H. Hughes, all of Lawrence, Ks. Great-grandchildren: Parker Hopkins, Emilyn Hopkins, Annabelle Moore, all of Lawrence, Ks.

I am so sorry for your loss I can remember having Mrs. Neva Hughes for a teacher in the Attendance Office at Lawrence High School. She was a great teacher Mrs. Hughes she will dearly missed keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
