Nathaniel Richardson Obituary

Nathaniel Richardson, 71, Eudora, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Hillside Village in Desoto, KS.

Nathaniel was born December 30, 1951, in Hollandale, MS, to the union Clarence and Elease RIchardson. Nathaniel gave his life to Christ at the early age of 13 years old. He was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church in Hollandale, MS.

Nathaniel was an eccentric, hardworking, and highly intelligent man who loved to read and learn many things. Nathaniel absolutely loved music and enjoyed his extensive record collection. Nathaniel's other passions included astronomy, politics, science and mathematics. His deep passion for learning was rewarded when he obtained his GED, and then went on to attend technical college in Topeka, KS.

Nathaniel and Mattie Neely were married for 30 years, out of this union they had two children, Johnathan Richardson (Tresa), Rebecca "Elease" Paden (Will) and stepdaughter Cheryl Green (Ben). Nathaniel also had two sons Nathaniel Hawkins Jr. (LaDonna) and Cornelius D. Marshall (Jolene).

Nathaniel was proceeded in death by his wife Alice Mae

Payne, his mothers' Elease Turner and Louise Turner, and brothers Gloster Turner and Ted Turner.

Survivors include his eight sisters and six brothers, Molly Ethel Wilbert (Joe), Sarah Neal (Roosevelt), Christine Longmire, Lola Mae Tyree (Andre), Cynthia Kratochvil (Chris), Maggie Cosey (Eugene), Mary Hamilton (Lee), Gloria Bolden, Chris Earl, Charles Ray, Daniel Turner (Cheryl), Solomon Turner, O.C. Turner, Steven Turner, and Gregory Turner. He leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, KS.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Nathaniel Richardson, and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
