Nadja Frolow Obituary

Funeral services for Nadeschda 'Nadja' Frolow, 92, Baldwin City, will be at 11 am Tuesday at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 11901 Pflumm Rd., Overland Park. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A luncheon will follow the service, and burial will follow the luncheon in Highland Park Cemetery, 3801 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Ms. Frolow died Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehab Center.

She was born August 10, 1924, in Tarnowa, Russia, the daughter of Ivan and Elena Kiosow. She married Michail 'Michael' Frolow in Gottenweiller, Germany, in 1947. Plymouth Congregational Church sponsored the family to Lawrence, Kansas, in October of 1958. Michael preceded her in death in 2008.

Ms. Frolow was a homemaker and a personal assistant to the Arly Allen family of Lawrence. She loved to bake, and donated her goods to her church for bake sales, and would give platefuls of goodies to friends and family for the holidays. She was especially known for her lemon squares, Bundt cakes, crescent rolls, and Easter breads. Nadja was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and Holy Trinity Church. She was a religious person who loved everyone, especially children.

Survivors include two daughters, Lena Scruggs and husband John, Baldwin City, and Veruschka Frolow, Lawrence; two grandchildren, Cameron Scruggs, Lawrence, and Nadia Scruggs and son Winn, Baldwin City; two sisters, Maria Brysky and Dora Stankewsky, both of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Gene Kiosow and wife Dora, Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday from 9 am to 8 pm at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 5 pm to 7 pm.
