Mildred Foster Obituary

Mildred "Millie" Foster

Millie Foster of Wethersfield, CT, died on June 6, 2013. She was born on October 21, 1933 in Lawrence, Kansas. She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Leona Foster, and two brothers, Bill and Emmett Foster. She is survived by her children Larry Lewis, Michael Kalencik, Cynthia Kalencik Pitts, Mary Kalencik, and Steven Kalencik, as well as nine grand children, two great grand daughters, and three step children, Karen, John, and Michael Thomas. She also leaves her best friend and the sister she never had, Gay Tine. Millie's greatest loves were her church, her family and friends, and her precious dog Benji. She was a long time member of the Rocky Hill United Methodist Church before joining the First Church of Christ in Wethersfield. Her favorite job was the one she had after she retired, working for Panda Home Healthcare; even after several of her clients moved into convalescent homes she continued to visit them with Benji. She loved bringing joy and a smile to people who had no one else.

At Millie's request, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will be held at the First Church of Christ in Wethersfield, 250 Main Street, Wethersfield, CT, on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. No flowers please. Instead, she requested that donations be made to the First Church of Christ in Wethersfield's Good Samaritan Fund.

Millie's children wish to thank the Hospital for Special Care and the staff of the Cardiac Medical Unit for their exceptional care of their mom and invite friends to also make donations to HSC, 2150 Corbin Avenue, New Britain, CT.

Well,. as someone stated in an earlier entry,...it has been a loooooong time since seeing and visiting with Mildred. She came back to Lawrence for a family reunion about 16 yrs ago. Her father Bill was married to my mothers sister Leona. So many great memories. It's kinda sad that it's so easy to lose touch with people we love. I would like to express my sincere sympathy to all of her family. Cousin Chuck
