Melissa Mueller Obituary

There are no formal services scheduled for Melissa Renee Mueller, 63, Lawrence, KS. A private celebration of life will be held at her home with her family. Melissa passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at her home.

Melissa was born on June 12, 1960, in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Ross Charles and Ethel (Montgomery) Mueller. Melissa loved playing sports in the Special Olympics: her passion was tennis and softball. She received a gold medal, which was her prized possession.

Survivors include her sister, Evelyn Easum, Lawrence; nephew, James Breitenbach, niece, Danielle LaVeta, nephew, Jesse Blevins, nephew, Joshua Blevins, 24 great nieces and nephews, who she had special names for, and they and adored their "Aunt Lissa."

Melissa was preceded in death by her mother Ethel, father, Ross, her brothers, Tony, Ricky, and Steve.

Melissa had an incredible personality, even two days before her passing, she was able to make her family laugh through the tears with her wit, and sense of humor.

Memorial contributions may be made in Melissa's name to Gideons International and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
