Melissa Lynn Obituary

Melissa Lynn died peacefully at the University of Kansas Hospital at the age of 60 with family and friends at her side. Melissa was born on April 18, 1952 to John Norman and Margueritte Pinnick in Lincoln, Kansas. During childhood, she lived in many Kansas towns including Lucas, Anthony, DeSoto, and Eudora. On April 27, 1972, she married the love of her life, Chuck Lynn. They raised their two daughters, Kelly and Kate, in Lawrence. Early in their marriage, Melissa supported Chuck to grow their business, Lynn Electric. She enjoyed boating at Clinton Lake, shopping and dinner with girlfriends, and road trips with Chuck in their Corvette. Later in life, she enjoyed working in her vineyard, making wine, and spending time with her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her dad, John Norman Pinnick. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Chuck Lynn, Lawrence, her daughters and son-in-laws, Kelly and Aaron Stohs, Louisburg, Kansas, and Kate and Jared Konie, Columbia, Missouri, and three grandkids, Addy, Matt, and Laney, and a baby granddaughter due to be born next month. Visitation will be Sunday, July 8 from 7-9pm and Memorial Service on Monday, July 9 at 10am, both at the Monticello United Methodist Church in Shawnee, Kansas with burial to follow in the Old Monticello Cemetery. Melissa was a loving wife, mom, and daughter, and her family and friends will miss her deeply. Please join us to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lawrence Humane Society.

My thoughts are with you! I have such fond memories of our family times during our years in Lucas. I adored Melissa and I celebrate her passion for life with all of you! Just last week I drove a friend of mine by your Lucas home and shared with her about the Pinnick family in our lives. I recall what a kind, gentle, caring person Melissa is and I know the passing of her life is a grief beyond measure. May Jesus hold your hearts and lives in His.
