Dear Gail, Thank you so much for your lovely card. I don't know if my sister Sue answered it, but we found it in a stack of mail at the house. Our mother, Gloria, passed away March 10, just two months short of her 95th birthday. I am the daughter who was the "cookie beggar" and I know from our family lore how much we ALL adored "Big Hank" and the entire family. From they way they talked, I believe that was some of the happiest times in their lives. Our mothers were young women, just starting the adventure of adult life and I believe they were a source of great support and friendship for each other. My mother was far from home for the first time in her life and I believe your family filled the loneliness with warmth and comfort.
Gloria was survived by her four children, Pat, Sue, Sally and Mike, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Sadly we found the card at the house my sister Sue lived in with my mother, when we were there to secure things on the occasion of Sue's passing on September 10. Your card and the obituary were on the table, but there was no envelope with a return address.
Thank you for sending this news on to the family. They are all in the arms of our loving Father, and I hope they are laughing and celebrating being together again. We hope that all of your happy memories are a source of peace and comfort for the family.

We met Maxine through her husband, Mac, who volunteered for us for many years. Mac always brought Maxine to our volunteer events, and we quickly learned what a special couple they were. Maxine was such a kind and loving person. May all the wonderful family memories you shared bring you comfort during this difficult time. --SMMC Volunteer Services Staff (Peggy & Laurie)

Gail, so sad to hear of your mother's passing. I believe she has made her move to heaven and to be with Jesus, where love will surround her too. Praying for you during this time of loss.
