I hadn´t heard of Matt´s passing. It´s been years since I´ve seen Robbie, Phil, and the kids. I´m sorry for your loss.

Katie, Parker, Lily, and Reed we are so sorry to hear of Matt’s passing. You will be in our prayers. What a positive guy who always had a smile on his face when we saw him! We need more of that!

So many wonderful memories of Matt from our days at KU! His humor, his smile and his ability to make everyone feel part of his world. Katie, I will never forget how crazy over the moon he was about you -- he just knew that life with you would be an amazing and blessed journey. Sending thoughts and prayers to you all -- holding you in our hearts.

I was so fond of Matt and it was always a fun conversation whenever he was around. I especially loved talking plants and old houses with him. Matt graciously came to our old house when we were trying to figure out how to replace our front doors and gave us some great advice that solved our unsolvable problem. I will miss seeing Matt and family sitting in the front row at mass. He was loved.

Matt was always so kind to me and my family. He help me feel so comfortable with all his funny jokes and sayings. Good times at the family dinners. Never forget them Matt and Kate were ever so kind and loving. Will miss him much.

I was a friend of Matt's at West Jr. High, LHS, and KU. Never have I had a more happy, kind and zesty friend. Everything was an adventure to be savored with Matt. He was taken way to soon. I am so very sorry for your loss.

It has been my privilege to have worked with Matt for the past eighteen years. During that time, I have admired his integrity, his character, his enthusiasm, and his creative mind. We have lost a good man! Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss.

Matt always had a smile and a humorous quip to share. He brought joy to everyday whether at work or at home with the family. He will be missed but always in our hearts and minds.

My heart broke when I heard of Matt's passing. I worked with Matt and his father, Phil, when we lived in Lawrence, Ks. He was so full of life, energy and kindness. He was planning his marriage to Katie. He lived a wonderful, fruitful life filled of service to others. Rest in peace, Matt. God bless you and your loving family and keep them close.

While Matt and I bonded over many issues - from neighborhood zoning to city hall gossip - one of my favorite experiences was dancing on the Becker’s porch at Shannon’s engagement party. He was dapper as always, and a marvelous dance partner. I kept attempting to lead - Matt insisted that he was to lead stopping each time I misread/didn’t follow his lead. In the end he was correct and did a much better job. We laughed as we danced in the dark.
Matt Levi you were one of a kind. Gracious and thoughtful, savvy and sassy. My heart is heavy for your lovely family.

The world was truly blessed by Matt and his amazing spirit. When life threw obstacles in his path, he found a way to blaze new trails and open new doors. He didn't wait for the world to solve his problems, he found a way to motivate others to work with him and make the world a better place. His open heart, natural smile and quick laugh made him one of the most approachable and fun loving people I've ever known. He is certainly with the heavenly Father now, but he earned is wings on earth. Sending all our love to his beautiful family!

Matt Levi welcomed you with a handshake or a hug, but always with a smile and a kind word. He was a fierce friend that truly wanted to know how “you were doing”, even while he was battling a debilitating disease. He was a trusted co-worker, a gentleman to others, an ardent volunteer, and most importantly a passionate and devoted husband and father. Matt immersed himself in his adopted faith and demonstrated his strong Judeo-Christian values in how he lived his life. Matt truly embodied what it means to be a Man for Others. We are all blessed to have known him.

I am truly saddened to learn of Matt Levi's passing. Matt was a lovely person and always lifted the spirits of anyone within his aura. I knew Matt from book club and had the privilege to enjoy his genuine hospitality at his home when he hosted. I always admired his keen intellect and insight during book club discussions. Katie, you and the family have my deepest condolences.

Matt was an intense, passionate man. He loved his wife and children. He approached life with resolve to make the world more just and open to people with special needs. From the opening meeting I had with the parents who wanted to begin FIRE, he was one who assured everyone that he would help make it happen and perpetuate it. We know he is at peace after his valiant struggle with cancer. What a blessing for those of us who knew him to befriend such a loving man.

Matt was such a warm friendly person and ever so kind. We are so sorry for your loss.

I so admired Matt and Katie and their work with children with special needs. In all of my interactions with Matt he was always the consummate gentleman whose love of family made up his core. Prayers for the Levi family and all who loved him.

Matt was a junior high classmate and friend, always kind and smiling. His family should be proud of his accomplishments. So sorry for your loss.

What an extraordinary person Matt was. The unusual close bond that he and his two sisters, Mary and Holly shared was also remarkable and rare. Our hearts go out to all of his family and friends. He will be missed.

Being greeted by Matt upon entry to Mass was the start to a soulful service. I can envision Matt serving a similar role wearing his natty bow tie and seer sucker suit with St Peter in due time. I am so sorry for your loss! I got to know Matt back when he and Katie were dating and before cell phones and social media. I remember when he would send Katie cards and other mail. He would always put the stamp on upside down, so she knew it was from him. He had the best sense of humor and was always so much fun! He will be missed. I hope he and Mary get in a bit of trouble up there together....❤❤
