Mary Sanchez Obituary

Mary Lou Sanchez 1944 - 2011 Eudora Mary Lou Sanchez Funeral services for Mary Lou Sanchez, 67, of Eudora, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka, 800 SW Sixth Ave. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka. Mrs. Sanchez died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 2, 1944 in Holton, the daughter of Willis and Bernice Kranz Jones. She retired from Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in 2000, where she worked in payroll. She then worked at the Tall Oaks Conference Center in Linwood in the food service department. She married Jesse Sanchez on Jan. 26, 1963, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her father, Willis Jones, and two sisters, Shirley and Donna. Survivors include her mother, Bernice Jones, of Holton; three daughters, Lisa Stratton and husband Kelly, of Lawrence, Julie Gregory and husband Scott, of Linwood, and Tammy Sanchez and Bruce Mooney, of Tonganoxie; a son, Jeff Sanchez and wife Kim, of Kearney, Mo., nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Ron Jones, of Holton; and two sisters, Darlene Wade of Fruitland, Idaho, and Jean Brewer of Ontario, Ore. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the Tall Oaks Conference Center, sent in care of the funeral home, 800 SW Sixth Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
