Mary Rae Acher

Mary Rae Acher, 77, Lawrence, KS, passed away Tuesday August 14, 2012 at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Monday August 20, 2012 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Sunday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.

Mary was born June 4, 1934 in Lincoln, NE, the daughter of Ray and Florence (Morris) Tatman. Mary worked as plant photographer for Hercules Army Ammunition Plant and later as the Office Manager for the Foreign Student Department at KU. She was a member of the Tonganoxie Christian Church. On February 20, 1979 she was united in Marriage to Donald Acher, he survives of the home.

Other survivors include; two sons, Steven Curtis, Lawrence, KS, Scott Acher, Fayetteville, AR; two daughters, Deborah Fritts, Ottawa, KS, Nancy Curtis-Ramirez, San Antonio, TX; one sister, JoAnn Smith, Lincoln, NE; 4 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
