Marti Kalb Obituary
Marti graduated from Baldwin City High School in 1959. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baker University and a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Kansas.
Marti worked in public schools and private practice in Kansas and Colorado for the remainder of her life, teaching and working with children of all ages.
Marti loved her animals, horses, llamas, dogs, and cats. She looked forward to weekly riding and carting. She was devoted to master Tai Yi, an energy process used to alleviate physical, mental, and emotional difficulties.
Marti served her community serving on the Board of Directors of the Baldwin State Bank, The Universal Education Foundation, and the Community of Caring Foundation in Cripple Creek/Victor.
Marti is survived by her loving husband F. Kent Kalb of Canon City, her son Fyras T. Kalb (Heather) of Bismarck, North Dakota, her grandson Kody L. Kalb, of Jamestown, North Dakota, her great granddaughter Paisley, her sister Joan Hambrick of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her brother Carl A. Butell, Baldwin City, Kansas and numerous extended family.
Marti was preceded in passing by her parents Carl B. & Leona Butell and her granddaughter Amanda.
A Celebration of Marti's life will be held on March 31st, 2018 at the home. She will be missed by many.

Marti was an adventurer and her love for nature led me to her first through a magical property she owned in Teller County. This inspirational placed was positioned next to an incredible rock formation and next to Mueller State Park. The snow capped views were stunning, the giant aspens were humbling and nature and her loved animals danced around a natural spring fed pond...it was a place you might call heaven. Marti's gentle nature, kindness and love of family and friends will forever be reminded in the places and people that she touched. A friend along her path,

Marti was a true adventurer in life. Her commitment was an inspiration to many including the many children she assisted in healing. We worked with her for many weeklong retreats at the Universal Education Foundation using her abilities to inspire those she touched. Marti will be remembered forever.
