Marjorie Tillman Obituary

Marjorie J. Tillman, known as Marge or Margie by friends and family, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Olathe Hospice House of Olathe, Kansas at the age of 90. Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 1st, 2021 at the Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri.

Margie was an independent, intelligent, and resilient woman. She was the only child of Mary Shea (McDonnough) McGee of Mexico, MO and Leonard Otis McGee of Slater, MO. When she was a baby, the family moved from her birthplace Alton, IL to St. Louis, MO, where she graduated from Normandy High School in 1948. She worked as a secretary for 5 years while pursuing Occupational Therapy at Washington University.

After graduating from WashU, Margie worked in healthcare in the St. Louis community, helping patients with physical and mental illnesses. Outside work, Margie enjoyed music, dancing, and movies. She was an avid reader, fascinated by Ancient Roman and Maya history. She enjoyed traveling to Europe well into her 80's and visited Italy numerous times. In her twilight, she loved chocolate, Coca Cola, and a good game of bingo. Margie was also a devout Presbyterian and trusted the Lord in all things.

Marjorie met Temple Harless Tillman on a blind date through mutual friends. They married on May 16, 1959 in St. Louis, MO, and had two children.

She was deeply proud of her family and adored her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Donald Jason Tillman, his wife Tracy McCubbin, and grandson Bodie Gray Tillman of Denver, Colorado; daughter Shana Elizabeth (Tillman) Good, her husband Kevin Good, and two grandchildren Satori Rose and Salvador Shea Good of Lawrence, Kansas.

Margie will be fondly remembered for her positive attitude, generosity, and sense of humor.
