Marilyn Miller Obituary

Marilyn "Jo" Miller, 78, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at her home. "Jo" was born September 11, 1940 in Altus, AR, the daughter of Jack Thomas and Agnes Woodrow Wilson Mathis. She attended Lawrence High School and later graduated from Oskaloosa High School. She was a "Domestic Engineer" and Homemaker, She loved music and served as a co-owner and managing partner of the "Honey Creek Band", entertaining for dances and special occasions in the Northeast Kansas area for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church and the Lucky Spur Saddle Club, Oskaloosa. "Jo" enjoyed many leisure time activities with her family including cooking, quilting, sewing, and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She married Charles D. "Chuck" Miller on December 21, 1956 in St. Marys, he survives at the home in Oskaloosa. She is also survived by three daughters, Jodi (Tom) Ragan, Oskaloosa, Judy (Terry ) Morrow, Topeka, Peggy (Todd) Hurd, Perry, two sons, Steve (Debra) Miller, Valley Falls, Mike (Wendi) Miller, Oskaloosa, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Ann Carter.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to Jefferson County Friends of Hospice , Oskaloosa United Methodist Church or to Lucky Spur Saddle Club in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O.
