Maria Rosa Perez

Maria Rosa Perez, 58, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013. She was born August 28, 1955, in Gomez Palacio, Durango Mexico.

Rosa came to the U.S. in the mid 1970's and resided in Gonzales until she moved to Los Banos in 2005. She was a devoted Catholic belonging to St Theodore's Catholic Church while in Gonzales and then St. Joseph Catholic Church in Los Banos. Rosa will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and will be remembered as a strong will person and courageous to the last day of her life, confronting any obstacle that was put in her way and overcoming most of them. Rosa was a wonderful wife and an amazing mother and if there was such a thing of a perfect person, she was that person and much more.

Rosa was preceded in death by her brothers, Adeliado Gonzalez, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Cipriano Gonzalez, Maurilio Gonzalez; and her father, Juan Gonzalez.

Survivors include her husband, Jesus R. Perez; daughter, Elizabeth Perez Ornelas; sons, Juan Manuel Perez, Adrian Perez, Oscar Perez; son-in-law, Michael Ornelas; grandson, Felix Sanchez; granddaughter, Alexandra Ornelas; her mother, Maria Soto Gonzalez; sister, Hermelinda Gonzalez Bugarin; brothers, Apolinar Gonzalez, Heraclio Gonzalez, and Juan Gonzalez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Los Banos District Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel ~ Los Banos.
