Marguerite Mills Obituary
Morton, Ill. - Mary Marguerite Mills, 90, of Morton, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria, Ill.
She was born July 12, 1924, in Atchison, Kan., to Leo and Mary Edisa (Martin) Bellinger. She married James Rex Mills on Sept. 11, 1959, in Lawrence, Kan.
Surviving are her husband, Rex, of Morton; one son, Marc Mills of Huntley, Ill.; one daughter, Julie (David) Sprague of Salem, N.H.; three grandchildren, Davis, Maxwell and Remy; and her sister-in-law, Michéle Bellinger of Taradeau, France.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Marguerite attended the University of Kansas, where she received her Radiological Technician certificate.
During World War II, she worked at the Hercules Munitions Plant in Lawrence, Kan.
Marguerite also worked as an X-ray technician at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.
She was a member of Morton United Methodist in Morton.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at Morton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gary Motta and the Rev. Paul Walles officiating.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morton United Methodist Church or UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.
