She was the hardest teacher I had at Bell Jr. High School. I had her in 7th grade and she was so hard with homework every night. Her last name was Streeter, then. Then I matriculated into 9th grade and looked at my schedule and saw the name Marcum. I didn´t know who that was until I walked into class and looked her in the face. I was going to have this rigorous English teacher for yet another year! But she was so beautiful that I wanted to please her. I worked so hard and got As in both terms. After having had her Iiterally cruised thru English in High School until I got to my senior year, which was about literature instead of grammar. I was the one she always called on to diagram sentences on the blackboard when whoever she had previously called on was unable to do it. I made As because I really wanted to impress her. Quite an inspiration for me. I was fortunate to have had her for a teacher; she made my life much easier with what she taught me. I can still diagram any sentence you ask after sitting in her class for two years in Jr. High school, a fate I thought could be worse than death at that time.
