I enjoyed being in sorority with Cindy for many years. She was such a nice person and good friend. Since she had a sense of humor, the Green Acres theme at her memorial was a nice touch. She will be missed. Betty Glick

To Cindy's family, I am truly sorry for your loss. Cindy and my sister Kim, who recently passed away this past May, were friends from Chase Bank. They both loved their "cats"! I only knew Cindy for a few months and soon realized why Kim and Cindy remained friends for so.... many years.
May you rest in peace.

Cindy was a student at Eudora High School when I taught English, Girls' glee club, art history, speech and directed plays, and contests in speech, art, and music. Cndy was active in almost everything, winning the poetry section in poetry reading of "Thanatopsis." Her personality and ambition made her memorable for all these years and I was thrilled to reconnect on Facebook. My grief blends with that of many other at learning of her death. May peace and love be with all of her family and friends.

As a sorority sister of Cindy's, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't see something in my home that reminds me of her. She gave me so many beautiful gifts, not only physical ones but ones from her heart as well. She was my "sister" and I will miss her dearly.

I was sad to read of Cindy's passing in the Lawrence paper. Although I haven't had contact for quite a few years, I will always remember what fun Cindy, Merilee and I had when they came to visit at Lota & Harold's house on Barker in Lawrence. Those were fond times. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

This was a great shock to me as Ron & I had just talked to Cindy the day before her passing, and she sounded so happy and full of life. We were friends and BSP Sisters for about 30 years. Cindy was a beautiful person, with an awesome personality, very creative, and just a fun person to be around! She will be missed by all who knew her. I will remember all of the good times we shared, and all of the laughter, playing Zilch, going to the movies, yard sales, conventions, and just having a good time together always! She also loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and of course her beloved kitty's. We hope your in a beautiful place! Much Love, Lori & Ron Morin

I knew Cindy for I think 30 plus years, meeting through sorority events and eventually joining our two chapters together. From the start we hit it off, socializing outside of sorority. What I will always remember about Cindy was her calm. She never showed she was upset, took everything as it came and just dealt with it with grace and humor. Her love and pride in her kids, grandkids, and great-grand kids was evident in the stories she told. I was fortunate to speak w/Cindy a few weeks before she left us and it was like we had just talked the day before rather then months ago. I'll miss my friend and think of her often. Cindy, I am thy sister.

You were a wonderful friend to my sister and me. We shared many wonderful times and I will remember them always.

You were always a gracious lady, loving your family and friends like few can truly do. You will be missed by so many of us that had the privilege to know you.

Rest in peace my friend; give hugs in heaven to all those who are lucky to have you with them now.

Cindy was a truly special lady. She went through numerous situations that would have anyone down, but she always came up smiling. To Cindy's family: I am a Beta Sigma Phi sorority sister from Marne, Michigan. I was privileged to bestow upon Cindy her Master Ritual last September. At the time it was the highest level in our organization. She was truly among "the good, the true and the beautiful." I believe she is looking down on us and guiding us along life's path with a bright torch in her hand. She will be greatly missed. Sincerely, Jane Franckowiak, Alpha Delta Master Chapter, Grand Rapids Michigan.

I was a neighbor of Cindy's when she
lived on 38th Drive in Phoenix, then we moved to Indianapolis in 2000. Actually
after the move we became closer through phone calls. I will remember her most for being good hearted and very interesting. She did not lead a dull life. I also remember her love for all of her family a few whom I've met and many I only heard about, but she really loved you all alot! And I always enjoyed the stories of her cats. She will be dearly missed and I will keep you--her family, in my prayers.

My sister Cindy was a great example of someone who approached life with an attitude of being happy with whatever one has. No matter what came her way, she was accepting and did not dwell on complaining (much like her aunt Ruby and her grandmother Lottie). I will always benefit from having experienced her good natured humor and the joy she took from her family and friends. She gave extensively of herself and will be missed I know by many people that she touched.

To Cindy's Dear Family -

I knew your mom as a young woman, my friend from Eudora High School. She was so bright intellectually and the real get it done gal, in our class. As young adults, we all looked up to Cindy. She was so funny, as well, and could have us laughing in a minute. I recently had the chance to reconnect with Cindy. What a wonderful woman - no surprise because I knew she would be just that. I am so very sorry for your loss of your mom and grandmother. My heart is very sad for you and for all of us who knew your terrific mom. You are in my prayers - Much Love, Rozann (Nusbaum) Wadleigh

Cindy was a great lady and a wonderful friend. I car pooled for more than 6 years with her almost every day when Bank One moved us down town and we always shared stories of our kids and grand children with each other. We had each other in stitches all the time. She had a great sense of humor. I will miss her so much. May she rest in peace in a better place.
