Louise Norwood Obituary

Graveside services for Louise (Webber) Norwood, 96, rural Lecompton, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lecompton. Louise passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence, KS.

Louise was born on August 28, 1924 in rural Montgomery County, KS, the daughter of John Lloyd and Sadie Elizabeth (Hambleton) Webber.

She was a member of the Lecompton United Methodist Church and the Lecompton Historical Society.

She was a homemaker.

She married Robert M. Norwood on December 9, 1945. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two grandchildren.

Survivors include her two sons, Milton "Lee" Norwood, Ken E. Norwood, both of Lecompton; daughter, Connie Stilson, Topeka, KS; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters, and brother Donald L. Webber.

Louise will lie in state from noon until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

Memorial contributions may be made in Louise's name to Lecompton Historical Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

Ken, Kelli & Norwood family, Louise was a wonderful woman. I recall meeting her when I first arrived as Lecompton's Pastor on July 1st, 1992. Bob Norwood was the 1st memorial service I officiated in August 1992. Joy & I send our condolences & prayers during this time of your loss.
