Lloyd Brooks Obituary
Lloyd "Butch" Arthur Brooks JR , 67, died June 23, 2015. He was the only son of Lloyd A. Brooks Sr & Thelma Brooks (née Bowen). He was born and raised in Lawrence, KS where he and the love of his life Sandra K. Brooks (née Oakes) raised their 4 children.
He is survived by his Wife Sandy, his son Sean Brooks and wife Kandi, a daughter Tammie Bryant and husband Adrian, another daughter Misty Saxer and husband Mike, 10 grandchildren, and 5 Great Grandchildren and 3 sisters, Norma Freeman, Carla Schmitt, and Marilyn Merritt.
Lloyd lost his courageous battle against the extremely rare lung cancer Giant Cell Carcinoma. Lloyd lived for 19 months after his diagnosis despite being given only 2 weeks to 2 months.
Lloyd was a truck driver for over 35 years. He loved traveling the open road with his wife and dog CG. Even after his retirement, his heart yearned to be back on the road. He enjoyed spending time with his family and cherished the "extra" time he had with them. Lloyd was so proud of the way they rallied behind him when he needed them most.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Thelma, a sister Sue Ellingsworth, and two sons, Lloyd "JR" Brooks and Marc Bloznic.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Lawrence Humane Society.

Graveside services will be Wednesday July 1st at 2pm at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence Kansas.
