Lisa Roche Obituary

Lisa B. Roche, 57, of Roswell, GA died Thursday, March 15, 2012 following a 33 month battle against Pancreatic Cancer. Born a "Jayhawker" on December 18, 1954 in Olathe, KS, Lisa spent her childhood growing up in the Napa, California area and moved with her family to Lawrence, KS in time to start her Junior High years. She remained in Lawrence until her marriage to Bradford M. Roche on August 26th, 1978. During their 34 years of marriage they created life-long memories and friendships as they moved from Lawrence to Chesterton, IN; Houston, TX; Charlotte, NC; ultimately settling in Roswell, GA in 1993. Lisa was a favorite of the 18 month olds she taught during her years as a pre-school teacher at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church in Charlotte and at Roswell Presbyterian Church and then became a favorite at high schools across Atlanta during the time she worked for H&R Campus Supply. But most of all, Lisa was a loving and devoted mom, wife and friend! She leaves a tremendous legacy of love, devotion, character and humor and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother Joyce Irene Paxton, her step-father Dayle Paxton and two brothers Charles (Chuck) Bowers and David Bowers. She is survived by her husband Brad; son and daughter-in law Adam and Frazer Roche and granddaughter Landon of Atlanta, GA; daughter and son-in-law Erin and Paige Anders and grandson Beau of Woodstock, GA; daughter Sarah Roche of Atlanta, GA and son Sam Roche of Roswell, GA. Also surviving are Lisa's brothers Eric Bowers and Philip Paxton of Olathe, KS; brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Kelly Paxton of Olathe, KS; and her sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Kevin Bolling of Lawson, MO, along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, brother -in-law, sister's- in- law and mother-in -law. Lisa's body was cremated following a private family viewing. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell, GA. Rev. Martha Fielden and Rev. Dr. Jody Alderman will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation in Lisa?s name to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Northbrook UMC or CaringBridge. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, March 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, 12050 Crabapple Rd., Roswell, 770-645-1414, www.northsidechapel.com.

Brad, I just heard the news from Ron Miller and we laughed about college days, the Fiji House, Campbell's Men's wear, guitar playing, and what a great guy you are. I'm sorry. My heart is with you and your family.

It seems like yesterday I heard your soft voice bragging about the new grandbaby. How happy and proud you were to see her come into the world. It has been a long journey for you and Brad. But you fault as long as you could. I will miss your beautiful smile and our conversations about kids and life itself. You were one of my favorite patients! Cause you never complained nor fuss. You tried and that itself is more than enough. I know you are in a much better place and not suffering. You wll be truly missed.
