Lillian Stanley Obituary

Lillian Virginia Stanley, 93, of Lawrence, KS died Monday, April 2, 2012 at her home. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 10, at the Hubble Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie, KS. Friends may call from 7-9:00 pm Friday at the Chapel Oaks Lawrence Funeral Chapel. Lillian was born December 21, 1918 in Coffeyville, KS. She graduated from Stanwood Grade school and from Piper High School in 1937. She then graduated from Brown Mackey Business College in 1938 on scholarship where she lettered in basketball. She went on to work as a Supervisor at the University of Kansas dining area for 17 years retiring in 1981. Mrs. Stanley also enjoyed working on the farm and gardening. She had many friends and neighbors who often visited her. During her years in school, she played saxophone in the band. She enjoyed marching in the American Royal parade and down Minnesota Ave. in Kansas City, KS in the Koontz band. She married Arthur L. Kampfer on July 19, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1976. She later married Garould Stanley in March of 1977 and he also preceded her in 2002. She had 4 children, Monte Kampfer, who preceded her in death; Ronald Kampfer of Piqua, KS, Gary E. Kampfer of Lawrence, KS and Judy Livingston of Vinita, OK. 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She will be missed by friends and family. My thoughts and prayers are with Gary and his family as they go through this difficlut time. Hold onto the good memories of your Mom and be comforted to know she has gone home to be with the Lord.

Enjoyed the time I spent with Lillian. Most of all the sharing of her steadfast love and dedication to Jesus Christ. My thoughts and prayers are with all members of Lillian's family during this difficult time.
