Leta Darlene White

Memorial services for Leta Darlene White, 78, Lawrence will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 3312 Calvin Drive, Lawrence, KS 66049. She died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.

Leta was born on February 27, 1935 in El Dorado, KS the daughter of Harold M. and Irene J. (Rogers) Davenport, Sr.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wichita University and her Master's degree from San Jose State University in San Jose, CA.

She was a realtor for McGrew Real Estate Agency. Previously she was a teacher and a speech pathologist.

She was a member of Grace Evangelical Presbyterian in Lawrence.

She married Wilbur Frank White on August 6, 1955 in El Dorado, KS. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2012.

Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Gayle Ott, Lawrence; one son, David Eric White and wife, Brenda, Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Clint Ott, Brent Ott, Sarah White, Eric White and one great grandson, Robbie Ott. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, John and James.

The family suggests memorials in her name to Grace Evangelical Presbyterian and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
