Kevin Wold Obituary

Kevin John Wold

Kevin John Wold passed away gently on April 5, 2013 with family members near him.

He was born July 14, 1953 in Watertown, South Dakota, the son of Paul Roland and Mildred Loretta (McMullen) Wold.

He graduated from Topeka West High School in 1971 and Emporia State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.

Kevin started his career in the non-profit sector in 1977 when he went to work for the Kansas Easter Seal Society. In 1979, he accepted the Center Directors position with the Yellowstone Easter Seal Society in Billings, Montana. It was there he met and married the love of his life, Pamela Ann (Hudson) Wold. They married on May 7, 1983 in Palm Springs, California. They moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1984 and began a 25 plus career in the mailing business.

Kevin loved sports and music, both playing and watching. Most of all he loved and cherished his family. He is survived by Pamela, his wife and best friend, his daughters, Lisa (Bret) English and Mindy (Will) Greiner, all the apple(s) of his eye, his grandchildren, Alexandra, Taylor, Jacob and Isabella; his father Paul and his wife, Bobbi Wold; his siblings, Karen Wold, Nick Wold, Greg Wold and Shawn Wold. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Wold and a sister, Mary Jane Wold.

He genuinely enjoyed people and his many friendships and will be missed by both family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence, Kansas. A traditional Lutheran lunch will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in his name to Trinity Lutheran Church – Organ Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

I was in the same class with Kevin at Topeka West. A nice guy. What surprised me is that my wife & I were married on the same exact date, May 7, 1983 and also have two daughters. May your family find peace and strength in the Lord at this time.

Kevin was a good man. We were one of the first customers when Kevin started his business and our work was always done with perfection.

My thoughts & prayers are with you.
