Kenneth Boyer Obituary

Kenneth E. Boyer

Heaven became an even better place Saturday, September 1, 2012 when Kenneth E. Boyer entered it's gates. Kenneth celebrated his 83rd birthday on July 20 at his home in Leawood.

Following a series of illnesses, Kenneth returned home to be with the love of his life, Fran Boyer, who left earths restraints on May 30, 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Jan Scott; sons, Scott and Philip and one brother, Gerald.

Kenny was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. He grew up in Kansas City, KS, graduating from Wyandotte High School in 1947. He then graduated from College of Emporia in 1951.

Kenny had one job his entire life, from Junior High School until his retirement in 1985, working with his dad and brother building a company today known as ProSoCo. During those working years, he along with his wife and kids lived in KC, KS, Bonner Springs and Leawood.

While living in Bonner, Kenny was active as a scout leader, served on the Bonner Springs School Board and in the First Christian Church in Bonner. He loved to hunt, play ball with his kids and perform his small town civic duties. That and napping in his recliner after his long days of work. Kenny's snoring was often mistaken for seismic activity.

In retirement, Kenny and Fran traveled, ate out, worked to help build Blue Valley Christian Church and loved life. And Kenny loved his naps in his recliner.

God never saw fit to put a finer man on earth. He will be greatly missed. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Blue Valley Christian Church 12251 Lamar, Overland Park, KS 66209. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, 6800 W. 93rd St, Overland Park, KS 66212 or to The Arthritis Foundation, 1900 W. 75th St, #200, Prairie Village, KS 66208.

Kenny was a super friend to both Eldon Harvey and me. He helped us elope to Oklahoma to get married. I know Eldon never forgot his kindness and neither have I. I was so happy when my mother introduced Fran to him. Boy the good memories...! My love to the family. Kenny is with God and at peace.
