Karen Krogstie Obituary

Karen Jean (Bost) Krogstie, 62, Lawrence, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.

She was born March 20, 1956, in California to Richard Gene Krogstie and Norma Jean Anderson. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1974.

Ms. Krogstie worked as a dog groomer and then as a "Karen the Cook" at Stepping Stones preschool, before becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed animals, especially her cat "Princess," attending parties, spending time with family, and watching reality TV. She also enjoyed attending professional wrestling matches. She was a very good baker and was known for her positive outlook and quirky sense of humor.

She married Harvey Lee Bost in 1979, in Lawrence, Kansas. They later divorced.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Bost of Lawrence; sisters, Jane Eisenbart and Kathy Heeb of Lawrence; and a brother, Mike Leming of Lecompton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life and potluck picnic will be held Sunday, June 10 at Burcham Park, starting at 1 p.m.

So sorry to hear of Karen's passing. I had the great pleasure of caring for Karen during one of her previous stays at Brandon Woods. I always looked forward to visiting with her. She always had such a positive attitude and could make my day that much better. I'm sure she will be greatly missed.
