Karen Hobbs Obituary

Karen Ruth Hobbs, 74, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on February 19, 2026. She was born October 3, 1951, in Altus, Arkansas to Jack and Agnes Mathis.

Karen married Roy Hobbs in 1982, and they spent forty-four wonderful years together. She was a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church and was a member of the social club Welcome Neighbor Fort Smith. Karen had quite the green thumb and enjoyed collecting flowers and potted plants. She also had a love for cooking; and would cook feasts and host all the family members and friends for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and son, Ryan Roy Hobbs.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Roy Hobbs; son, Sean Thomas Dougan and wife Amy; daughter, Darla Hobbs; grandchildren, Daren, Dareka, KateLyn, Adysen, Levi, and Scarlett; and great-granddaughter Claire.

Public viewing will be available on Tuesday, February 24th from 8:00am-5:00pm at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 N 12th St, Fort Smith, AR 72901. A graveside service will take place at Fort Smith National Cemetery, 522 Garland Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901 on Wednesday, February 25th at 1:00pm. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to Edwardsfuneralhome.com
