Judith Wheeler Obituary

Judith "Judy" Kay (Culver) Wheeler, Lawrence, Kansas died April 27, 2019 at her home at 60 years old. She fought courageously 9 months having Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (cancer).

Judy was born on September 9, 1958 in Colby, Kansas. She was the 3rd child of Kenneth Lee and Peggy Joyce (Smith) Culver. Judy attended Colby Elementary School until the family moved to Lawrence, Kansas in 1967. Judy graduated from Lawrence High School in 1976. She attended Kansas State University in Manhattan for one year before moving back to Lawrence.

She married Alan "Kelly" Wheeler on September 30, 1978. Judy and Kelly celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last September, 2018.

Judy worked for Pence Garden in Lawrence for 2 years and Hallmark Company in Lawrence for 39 years retiring from Hallmark last July 2018.

Judy was a loving wife and dotting mother. She was proud to be "Grandma" to three

grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, 5 uncles, one aunt and her father and mother. She leaves behind her husband, Kelly from Lawrence, daughter Amanda (Justin) Wright from Shawnee, Kansas, one granddaughter, Mila Wright, and two grandsons, William and Spencer Wright, Shawnee. Judy also leaves behind her sister, Nancy (Mark) Edelman, Boone, Iowa, brother Dale (Mary) Culver, Shawnee, Kansas, her nephews, Keith Culver, Kansas City, Adam (Ami) Edelman, Chicago, Aaron Edelman, Boone,Iowa and one niece, Alex (Derek) Merk, Boone, Iowa, and 2 great-nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Centennial West Park, 600 Rockledge Rd., Lawrence, Kansas from 1 pm - 4 pm.

I'm so sorry for you loss. Judy was a very sweet lady and she was always so helpful and had a smile. I miss her every time I walk by the front desk at Hallmarks. I am so sorry she didn't get more time retired. Sending my sincere condolences to her family.

Judy will remain forever in our thoughts and she will be greatly missed by us all .
