Juanita Dake

Juanita Dake, 91, Wyandotte County,KS, died Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Richmond, MO. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS where friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church or Mosaic of Northeast Kansas.

Juanita was born November 6, 1922, in Iberia, MO and had lived most of her life in the Kansas City area before moving to Richmond in 2012. She had been a clerical worker for Southwestern Bell for 20 years, retiring in 1987. Juanita was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday School Superintendent, a member of La Sertoma Club of KCK and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Dake in 1999. Juanita is survived by 4 children and their spouses, Fred Dake, Kansas City, KS, Stanley and Vicki Dake, Plattsburg, MO, Suzanne and Richard Wilson, Cainsville, MO, Kathy Dake, Bonner Springs, KS, a sister, Dorothy M. Greene and her husband, Morris Gillet, Minneapolis, MN, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. To My Mother-in-law, You were always there for us when we needed you. You are a wonderful person and your grandskids Lucas, Kamin and your greatgrandson Kahlel ,We Love you and you sure will be miss you Grandpa will love you too. You are a great man. Love the Dake Family

I would like to express my deepest sympathy. Please take comfort in knowing that the God of Peace and comfort will help you at this difficult time, Jermiah 29:11,12. Ms Dake will be missed. Cherishing the special memories will help us cope.
