Joyce Miller Obituary

Joyce Ann Miller, 75, died Friday, Nov. 20, at the Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg.

Joyce was born on March 4, 1940 in Hegins, to the late William E. and Blanche T. (Huntzinger) Carl. She was a graduate of Penn State University and worked for Cokesbury Book & Church Supply Co. for 35 years before her retirement.

On February 3, 1962 Joyce married the love of her life, Gene D. Miller. They spent 53 years together before her passing.

A longtime member of Rockville United Methodist Church, Joyce's faith in her Creator was the corner stone of her life. She was active in the church: singing with her husband in the choir and organizing the church's book club. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's group and a coordinator for the church's children's programs. She really held most every position in the church over the years except Pastor.

Joyce loved Bible Studies, cooking, reading and entertaining for friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her daughter Cathy Ann Miller.

Joyce is survived by her husband Gene D. Miller, her son Col. Michael G. Miller, her daughter Julie Miller, her two brothers: Daniel Carl and wife Darlene and William Carl and wife Pat, her two sisters: Sandra Stutzman and Elizabeth Scheib, her grandson: Michael Miller and wife Christine and her great grandson Bryson Miller, and her granddaughter: Saylor Watts.

Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the Rockville United Methodist Church, 4386 N 6th St, Harrisburg. Burial was in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Rev. Karen Atanasoff officiated the services.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Rockville United Methodist Church in Joyce's name.
