Joseph Lawrence Obituary

Joseph Paul Lawrence, 85, departed this life peacefully on May 22, 2023 at his home in Bradenton, FL with his family at his side. Joe was born on May 18, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Antoinette (Kosiewicz) Lawrence. He married Jacqueline Yiskis on February 7, 1959. Joe and Jackie celebrated 64 years of marriage earlier this year. Throughout the years they resided in Chicago and Tinley Park, IL, Coral Springs and Bradenton, FL and Lawrence, KS, and were longtime residents of Sarasota, FL. Joe was active in the Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Scouting, his homeowners association, and for nearly 15 years volunteered in the Cardiac Rehabilitation department of Doctors Hospital in Sarasota. He enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing and his beloved Chicago Cubs. Joe was predeceased by his parents and his brother James (Lucille) Lawrence. He leaves behind his loving wife Jackie of Bradenton, his son Michael (Therese) and three grandchildren (Kevin, Nina and Madelyn), all of Lawrence. A celebration of Joe's life will be held in Sarasota in the near future. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Joe's name to the American Heart Association.
