Joseph Baringer Obituary

Joseph William Baringer, 94, of Lawrence, KS. formerly of New Paris, In., died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Bridge Haven Memory Care Residence. Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 2:00p.m. in Goshen, IN. at the Rieth, Rohrer, & Ehert Funeral Home. Interment will be at the New Paris Cemetery in New Paris, IN. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Chapel Oaks Lawrence Funeral Chapel in Lawrence, KS from 6:30-8:30pm.

Mr. Joseph William Baringer was born on February 21, 1918 in New Paris, IN, the son of Otis Baringer and Ester (Kruesensterner) Baringer. He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and proudly served his country in the Army's 101st Airborne during WWII. He received a bachelor's degree from Indiana University. He worked for Standard Oil of Indiana in the Marketing Dept. He was an avid golfer and a huge IU basketball fan. He was married on June 28, 1952 to Marilyn Shively. She preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by his son Philip Baringer and his wife Jill Baringer, his brother David Baringer and grandchildren Bryce and Kathryn. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
