John was a consummate gentleman, a decorated war veteran, and a good friend going back to junior high school days. I always enjoyed running into him downtown when he was carrying the mail. May he rest in peace.

Sorry to here about John. Neva was our babysitter back in the mid 60's, when John came back from Vietnam he gave me his 3 up stripe pins canteen, waist belt and cutter hat. I still have them to this day.

I worked right next to John for many years when he carried mail downtown. We worked hard everyday to have a few laughs and to get into mischief. He was a good mentor and tried as hard to keep me out of trouble as I tried to get him into it. Hadnt seen him in a long time but Vance kept me updated. So sorry for your loss. He was one of the good ones and will be missed.

I worked right next to John at the Post Office for a lot of the years he carried mail downtown. We had a lot of good times. We worked hard at having a few laughs and getting into some mischief every single day. He was a mentor and tried to keep me out of trouble. He was one of the good ones and will be missed. So sorry for your loss.
