Dorothy Lloyd Obituary
August 1, 1927 to December 4, 2025
Dorothy passed away on the morning of December 4th at James Bay Age Care. She was predeceased by her husband Ken, sister Janet Cairns and son-in-law Don Earnshaw. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Beverley Earnshaw, granddaughters: Sherri-Lynn (Stephan), Leanne (Rich), Heather (Kevin), as well as her eight great-grandchildren: Jacob (Megan), Mads, Caleb, Aiden, Bryden, Annabelle, Aubree and Carson.
Dorothy worked full-time her entire life, first at Spencer's Department Store starting when she was 18 years old and later at Fields Department Store until her retirement in the mid 1980's. During their working years Dorothy and Ken were very involved in the Optimists Club, many other clubs and activities as well as looking after their granddaughters on the weekends.
The family would like to thank the staff at James Bay Age Care for taking good care of her and making the transition from being independent at home to being supported easier for her.
There will be a private family interment service at Royal Oak Cemetery in the new year. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or BC Cancer Agency.

We are sorry to read of Dorothy's passing. We have many memories of Boxing Day Open House with Dorothy, Ken & Don. Also, many events with the Optimist Clubs. Sincere condolences in your loss. They will be remembered.

Sending love to all of you. Growing up together, I have many memories of your Grandma at your house. She was kind and always seemed happy having us kids around. She would iron laundry while we watched movies or played Monopoly. Big hugs to your family.
