Visitation for Joan A. (Scott) Floyd, 77, Pryor, will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stephens-Key Funeral & Cremation Care. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, 10:00 AM at Warren-McElwain Mortuary & Cremation, Lawrence, Kansas. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, Kansas. Services are entrusted to Stephens-Key Funeral & Cremation Care, Pryor, Oklahoma.
Joan was born January 17, 1938 in Lawrence, Kansas to Albert Lester and Elma Abby (Ulm) Scott. She departed this life on May 21, 2015 in Pryor at the age of 77 years 4 months and 4 days.
Joan attended school in Lawrence, Kansas and graduated from Lawrence High School. She was married to Robert R. Floyd on November 5, 1978 in Lawrence. Joan was a member of the First Christian/Presbyterian Church in Pryor. She loved music and was a great dancer. Joan was given the "Volunteer of the Year" award for hospice service in Texarkana, Texas. She enjoyed knitting and had made all of her children afghans. Joan liked to grow flowers and plants and also liked to travel. The love of her life was her grandchildren and Joan always wanted to please all of her family. Above all she loved her faith in the Lord and her husband.
Joan is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" R. Floyd, son Jerry Cunningham of Chouteau, daughter Julie Littlefield of Pryor, step-son Bob Floyd, Jr. and wife Kim of Austin, Texas, three step-daughters Barbara Nottingham of Clearwater, Florida, Debbie Balise and husband Paul of Tustin, California and Gina Bates and husband Bryan of Midlothian, Texas 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two brothers John Scott and wife Corinne of Lake Arrowhead, California, and Gary Scott of Lawrence, Kansas, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter Janice A. Copp.

For John and Gary, Very belated sympathies and thoughts on your sister. I remember Joan's bright personality and ready smile for the many years she lived here in Lawrence. All you Scotts have such spark! Miss seeing both of you.

Having been a classmate of Joan at Lawrence High School and a long-time Hallmark employee I have been priviliged to know Joan and Bob for much of my life.
