Jerry Altman Obituary
He graduated in 1955 from Bellingham High School, shortly afterwards enlisting with the US Navy. He served aboard the destroyer, USS Furse till 1959. Jerry married Corale A. Cully in 1961. He continued to serve his country at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene, KS for over 30 years. Retirement brought them closer to family in Lawrence, KS.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Corale of 57 years; daughters Rene MacMurray; Carrie and husband Steve Williams. Four grandchildren: Tyler and Ian MacMurray, Megan and Katie Williams all of Lawrence, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Altman.
Memorial visitation will be held Friday from 5:30-7 pm at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Private inurnment with Military honors will be conducted at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Visiting Nurses/Hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice, in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS, 66044. Online condolences may be sent at rumsey-yost.com
