I have a memory of meeting Jean at St. Conrad's Friary here in Lawrence. It must have been 30 years ago. I knocked on the door and very shortly thereafter, who else but Jean, answered the door with a spatula in her hand. She had been preparing supper for the friars. Jean was such a devoted follower of Christ! She could be found doing very simple things like that in her vocation as a follower of Christ. I met her husband Ray while working a cash register for the October Festival. Jean would turn up in places where you wouldn't suspect to find her. Her devotion to Christ was amazing!

Jean and her family were wonderful Tennessee Street neighbors in the previous millennium. We always remember Jean´s thoughtfulness, concern, enthusiasm, energy, laughter and smiles, just as this photo shows. Our hearts go out to Ray and the four children.

I met and new Jean from KU and the Integrated Humanities program. WI have a picture of herself and Ray and myself, and several others walking up the steep KU hill to classes after morning mass on an icy snowy most beautiful morning. We could not keep from laughing for as we walked a step or two forward we slid back down. It took us a while that morning, walking towards our destinies! Such joy we had in the attempt that morning!
My children remember Jean with her interactions with them in their school years. Jean did wonderful drama with my two oldest, and also with Louis. Jean was just always redy to help with energy and joy.

Jean was such a lovely warm person. I belong to the Secular Franciscan fraternity in Emporia and we were welcomed by hers in Lawrence. She was their Formation Director when I first met her and she wowed me with her offerings. May she rest in peace

A truly wonderful person. Always ready to lend a helping hand. Personally, she was encouraging to me and made it possible for me to complete work on an extremely important project. Always grateful for her generosity and dedication.
