James Reinecker Obituary

James S. Reinecker, 75, Lawrence, Kansas, a native of Osawatomie, died Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Lawrence.

He was born August 4, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Robert F. and Edna Mae Irwin Reinecker of Osawatomie. He attended local schools and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1968.

During the course of his career, he worked as a Psychologist at several Kansas Correctional Facilities in Hutchinson, Larned, and Junction City. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology from the University of Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his son, Skylar Reinecker; parents Robert and Edna Reinecker; brother Bill Reinecker; sister-in-law Charlotte Reinecker, and nephew Noah Reinecker.

Survivors include two brothers, Philip Reinecker of Tucson, Arizona; and Dennis (and wife Marcy) Reinecker of Shawnee, Kansas; four sisters, Ruth (and husband Mike) Elliott of Eudora, Kansas; Linda Hamm of Lenexa, Kansas; Judy Reinecker of Osawatomie, Kansas; and Sharon (and husband Ronnie) Bailey of Topeka, Kansas; nieces Pam Lewis and Cindy (and husband Nick) Poehl of Houston, Texas; Karma (and husband Mark) Lohrenz of Eudora, Kansas; Taylor Elliott of Austin, Texas; nephew Tristan Hamm of Lenexa, Kansas; as well as nine grandnieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a date to be determined.
