James Grems Obituary
The family will receive friends Monday July 28, 2025, from 6-8pm at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Graveside services will be 12pm Tuesday July 29, 2025, at Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
James was born April 26, 1939, in Tonganoxie, KS, the son of Leroy and Anna (Clark) Grems. He served in the U.S. Army from November 1961- November 1964 and then went on to open Grems Painting and Remodeling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy, and Anna Grems; Brother, Robert Grems; sisters, JoAnn Brown, Jane Howard, and Virginia Ritsema.
Survivors include; his wife, Betty, of the home; 2 sons, Jimmy Grems, Eudora, Jason Grems, Eudora; one daughter, Jennifer (Joel) Morgan, Clear Lake, SD; one step son, Jeff (Sarah) Patchen, Topeka, KS; one brother, Bill Grems, Denver, CO; two sisters, Ruth Lee, Eudora, KS, Linda Gaffney (Virginia Ritsema) Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Jansen, Sioux Falls, SD, Grant (Morgan) Morgan and their children Paisley, Easton, Ellie, Hadley, Fargo, ND, Allison (Joshua) Bratland, Sioux Falls, SD, Annika (Austin) Avery and their children Lily, Lucy, Fargo, ND; and two grand dogs, Penny and June Carter.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Douglas County Humane Society or Midland Hospice Care.

Jimmy, was so sorry to hear about the old man, I just found out at 11:00am on the 29th or I would of been there for sure. Me and the old man got along really good and I always enjoyed running into him at different places. Jimmy I am really sorry to hear this but he is in a good place now and someone up there will take good care of him.
