Delaware Ridge Elementary Students and Staff

February 1, 2014

Kay was a wonderful to support to the students and staff, especially the kindergarten students and teachers, at Delaware Ridge Elementary. She served as an expert for the kindergarten Expedition, which focused on life cycles, for several years. Kay's enthusiasm for caterpillars and butterflies was infectious. Our students loved spending time listening to her talk about nature, butterflies in particular. Kay was with us when our first group of kindergartners nurtured their caterpillars through the cocoon stage and then for the release of their butterflies. It was a magical day, and we are so glad Kay was with us! Kay inspired many, many of our students to be good stewards of our environment and to love nature.

Shevling Family,

We're so sorry to hear of Kay's passing. She was an interesting and spirited woman who will be very missed.

Kay loved the Franklin Lake (MN) sunsets so I will think of her when I watch the sun slip away across the lake.

We'll be thinking of your on Friday; so sorry we can't be there.
