I´m not even sure that you will get this, but I was reliving some memories and thought of Dr Skeels, looked up his obituary and thought I would leave a note, perhaps never to be read. It was in 1959 when I was looking for a full time job. I had been a student at Wayne State and learned about a job in the Labor and Industrial Relations office. I was hired to be Dr. Skeel´s transcriber. He brought tapes back to the office after he had interviewed top Labor Union leaders. It was my joy to transcribe these conversations on my typewriter. There were many participants, but the name that I remember most was Jimmy Hoffa. It was truly an honor to work for Dr Skeels; he taught me much which I use even today.

He was a father figure to me and the first source this reporter ever had. Salt of the earth. No praise I could give him could give him justice

We loved having Jack as our next-door-neighbor. He knew everything about trees. He always gave us a wave and "hello". We are really sad about this news. Most of all we'll miss his wonderful laugh. Our deepest condolences.
