Harold William Walters Jr., loving husband and father, died suddenly and unexpectedly on April 26, 2011. He was 57 years old.
Harold, known to many as Bill, leaves behind a legacy of success, fortitude, benevolence, and love to those who knew him, especially those with whom he was closest.
Bill, born on August 21, 1953 to Harold Walters, Sr. and Marlene Walters (both deceased), grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois, where he excelled in sports, particularly basketball. His tall frame and athleticism helped him attain a college basketball scholarship. After receiving his diploma, he went on to play and coach basketball in South Africa. Upon returning to the United States, Bill met his future wife, Jerry Walters, in Pensacola, Florida in 1977. They wed on May 26, 1979, and at the time of his death, they had been married more than 31 years. On March 17, 1981, Bill and Jerry had their first and only child, Justin.
Bill was a financial adviser for Morgan Stanley (and predecessor firms) in Pensacola, Florida for more than 33 years. He leaves behind a large client base that he cared dearly for, and his efficacy in serving them will be sorely missed.
While Bill took great pleasure in his work, he also enjoyed golf, fishing, and being outdoors. He was happiest, however, when he was with his family. Bill recently had his first grandson, Nolan, in September 2010, whom he loved deeply and saw each and every day. Their relationship on Earth was too short, but Bill's legacy will surely have a lasting impact on his grandson's life.
Up until the day that he passed, Bill's life was dedicated to providing all that he could for his family. He did so like none other.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jerry; his son, Justin (Lauren) Walters of Norwalk, CT; his grandson, Nolan; and his step-mother, Eileen Walters of Pensacola, FL.
Memorial services will be held at Christ Church, 18 W. Wright St., Pensacola, FL 32501 on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:30 AM CT. A reception at the same location will immediately follow.

Walters family, I was very sad to hear of Bills passing. I was on vacation at that time and just heard today. I remember when I got on the PSA board and then became president , Bill always was there to help me with things. He ALWAYS asked me how my athletic daughter was doing , even about a month ago when I ran into him at the driving range. I am very sorry. Jack lowrey

I will always cherish the time I got to spend with Bill on the boat, on the golf course, and just hanging around. I have fond memories of my various trips to Pensacola and the time we spent together. I will always appreciate the generosity you all shared with me.

16 years ago we met Bill and he has taken care of our finances since that time. He had a gift for caring about his clients. One could tell how much he loved his family. We will miss him and your family has our sincere sympathy at this time
