Guy Shain Obituary

A Celebration of life for Guy Shain, DVM, 48, Wellsville, KS, will be held at a later date. Guy passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at his home.

Guy was born in St. John, KS on March 2, 1974, the son of Walter and Rita (Bowden) Shain.

Guy received his Doctorate of Veterinarian Medicine from Oklahoma State University in 1999.

Mr. Guy was a devoted father and loving husband. He was always willing to help a friend or family member in need and his generosity knew no limits.

He enjoyed all-things tractor and working around the small family farm. He especially loved spending time with the family's numerous animals including his beloved German Shepherd, Jarvis. A former Deacon at Eudora Baptist Church, Guy enjoyed singing as part of the worship team.

Guy was a doctor of veterinary medicine and co-owner of Eudora Animal Hospital, where he was known for his strong compassion and sense of humor. He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. He was a recipient of the Hunt Ball Scholarship for Outstanding Student in Equine Medicine and Surgery.

Guy married Kania Kisner on April 28, 2001 in Fenton, MO. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his two daughters, Sydney Shain and Audrey Shain; his mother, Rita Shain of Gerald, MO and two sisters, Nichole and Laurel. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter.
