Gordon Campbell Obituary

Gordon Leo Campbell

Franklin, TN

Gordon Leo Campbell passed away December 5, 2015 after a long struggle with addiction. He was born in Nashville May 15, 1971.

Preceded in death by mother Marianne C Campbell.

Survived by father Rex T. Campbell; identical twin brother Grant Campbell (Amy); sister Angela Rice (Chris); nieces and nephews Britton Catignani, Claire Rice, Jack Campbell and Will Campbell. He also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.

Gordon was a free spirit and lived life in the moment with great enthusiasm. He was full of life. Gordon loved God, his family, his friends, animals, and the beauty of nature. He was a tender, caring soul who always wanted to help others, especially those less fortunate.

Most importantly, Gordon will be deeply missed by the love and light of his life, 17 year- old son Connor Wynn Hamm who he often referred to as the best thing he ever did in his life. Connor lives in Shreveport, LA with parents Callie and William Hamm, sisters Tindol and Mollie. We were blessed to know and love Gordon and are grateful knowing he is free and at peace with God.

A memorial service for Gordon Campbell will be held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church 533 Sneed Rd W, Franklin, TN 37069 on Tuesday December 15th at 11:00. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 in the morning in the narthex.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Discovery Place, Burns, TN. --Discoveryplace.info

I am so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing onward. Gordon was truly one of the kindest and most lovely of people. I'll always have so many fond memories of our times together as children.

No doubt Gordon is an angel now.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Campbell, Grant, Angie and his son Connor.

Grant,
I am so sorry to hear the news of Gordon. I know this is a difficult time for you & your family, but hold all those wonderful memories in your heart then he'll always be close. He was a good guy who will be missed by so many. I have some good Father Ryan memories that include him. He had such a sweet smile. Please know he is at peace.
With sympathy,

My prayers and thoughts are with you with the loss of your son, Gordon. Losing a child is the hardest thing a parent can experience. Time is all that helps heal your heart, but know that he is with our God and some of his friends and family in the most Beautiful place we all will be one day if we believe. My precious daughter, Neely Ann Hall went to FRHS and was close friends to Gordon and Grant. She will welcome him with her sweet smile. My prayers are with you, too Grant. God Bless You and Your Family.

Thank you for sharing. I did not know Gordon personally but I do know the courageous battle with which he struggled. I am recovering from addiction and struggled with it many years as did those who love me. There are no guarantees, just one day at a time and every person's path is different. I am sure that Gordon helped others along his way and that he is finally at peace. And I believe that you have helped more people than you may ever know through your honest and open sharing in Gordon's loving obituary. Prayers here for Gordon, his family and friends.
